‘ Dream’ comes true for Argentina’s Macri
Buenos Aires Argentine President Mauricio Macri was s worn in Thursday, inheriting myriad economic problems from the often-divisive outgoing President Cristina Fernandez, who skipped the inauguration in a final sign of confrontation. Macri, who hails from one of the country’s richest families, took the oath in front of legislators, several Latin American heads of state and other dignitaries, like former Spanish King Juan Carlos. “Today a dream is being realized,” said Macri, who ran on promises to usher in an era of more civil discourse and tighter spending. Throughout his campaign, he argued measured freemarket reforms would overhaul the flat economy.
