GETTING TOP MARKS FOR GREAT WORK, GOOD GOVERNANCE
These 25 charities were chosen from a shortlist of organizations that made it easy to figure out how they were raising and spending their money. They also met basic benchmarks for spending on overhead and fundraising, with the bulk of their spending going to charitable work — not executive salaries and fancy parties. Most importantly, they all did a great job p- roviding donors with evidence their donations are having an impact. That’s what the let ter grade beside each charity assesses, based on methodology from the organization Charity Intelligence.
