Liberals will raise the GST

Re: The ‘ Oops’ Keep Coming For Trudeau, Andrew Coyne, Dec. 10. I have been seeing a lot written about the fiscal probity of our new Liberal government. I don’t know what all the fuss is about. When the deficit gets big enough, they will just raise the GST back up from five per cent to seven per cent, blaming it on the previous government’s error of reducing it in the first place.

Then they will start a new program to enforce tax-included pricing so people will no longer be frustrated by having to add 15 per cent to the shelf price to figure out what things will cost.

Most people will lap it up. In six months, it will be seem like there is no tax at all, and all the incompetence leading to it will be long buried, including its effect on economic growth. Sunny ways for them; hidden and ever increasing taxes for us.

What could possibly be more Liberal?
