Re: The Bonanza Of Buying Subsidies, Andrew Coyne, Dec. 8. Andrew Coyne’s failure to name the subsidy- seeking business in the above noted article is like refusing to warn neighbours of an approachin­g forest fire. It is access to public money the lobbyist and client are discussing in a public place. As his article eloquently discloses, subsidies become entrenched and depending on the spin doctors, also become election and re- election fodder. This whole business is very close to fullon corruption and vote- buying.
