Andrew Coyne’s failure to name the subsidy- seeking business in the above noted article is like refusing to warn neighbours of an approaching forest fire. It is access to public money the lobbyist and client are discussing in a public place. As his article eloquently discloses, subsidies become entrenched and depending on the spin doctors, also become election and re- election fodder. This whole business is very close to fullon corruption and vote- buying.
