SUICIDE ATTACKS KILL 80 IN NIGERIA
Maiduguri, Nigeria More than 80 people died in attacks in northeast Nigeria’s Borno and Adamawa states, as suicide bombers targeted civilians and the army clashed with suspected Islamist militants in a spate of violence starting late Sunday. In the deadliest attack, two female suicide bombers killed about 40 people near a mosque in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state. More than 10 were killed in clashes between militants and the armed forces when the insurgents attacked a bar and residences. At the Madagali market in neighbouring Adamawa state, two bomb blasts killed more than 20 people at about 2 p. m. on Monday.
