Give and take needed

Re: A Tale Of Two Bailouts, editorial, Feb. 10; Get Out Of The Sandbox, Susanne Dicocco, Feb. 11.

Take it to the bank — Bombardier will get every dime it asks for while Alberta gets a few crumbs for Rachel Notley to squander on some dreamy socialist project. I’m Prairie born and raised. This is the way Canada has always been run.: everything for the East, with double-dipping for the Atlantic provinces and Quebec.

We are headed for a national financial and political crisis while Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wanders the land taking “selfies” and uttering “sunny” platitudes. Francis Patrick Jordan, White Rock, B. C. Although Canada is an oilproducing nation, we are buying vast amounts of oil from foreigners. At the same time, Alberta is suffering from the lack of oil sales. We also have Bombardier asking for another infusion of cash f rom t axpayers. Quebec is against having an oil pipeline cross the province to reach an oil refinery in New Brunswick.

Should there not be some give-and-take between provinces? How about Quebec easing up on restricting an oil pipeline in response to funding Bombardier. This infusion of cash must come with a shake- up of Bombardier’s management team. Out with the current management and all infusion of money comes with the trading of dollar for dollar shares to our government. A winwin solution for Canada.
