COULD HIP-HOP STAR LITERALLY BE OFF HIS MEDS?

Kanye West has been gathering as much attention for his recent meltdowns as he has for his new record, but what if the reason for his behaviour is caused by mental health issues? West’s latest album, The Life of Pablo, includes lyrics that suggest the rapper is on anti- depressants. Although the stigma of “craziness” attached to medication has its own risks, many have pointed out the track Feedback as evidence of West’s mental health. On it, he raps, “I been outta my mind a long time,” then adding “Name one genius that ain’t crazy.” What prove more relevant, however, are these lyrics from FML: “You ain’t never seen nothing crazier than this n— a when he off his Lexapro.” Lexapro is a common antidepressant that treats depression and anxiety.
