Toronto Blue Jays infielder Maicer Izturis, 35, announced his retirement Friday after 11 Major League seasons.

“I put my heart and my soul and my body into it this year to see how it was going to feel, but my body cannot handle it anymore. So, I decided this is going to be my last time playing baseball.”
