THE BROTHERS GRIMSBY
The Brothers Grimsby is the latest gross-out comedy from the warped mind of Sacha Baron Cohen, whose full-immersion characters include the suburban-London yobbo Ali G, the Kazakh journalist Borat, and the Austrian fashionista Brüno. In this one he’s Nobby, a football fan from the English seaside town of Grimsby (which is not amused by the attention the film has received). Nobby’s brother ( Mark Strong, pictured right) is a spy for MI6 who needs his sibling’s help to save the world. Or something. Critics have been of two minds about the film, which has already opened in Britain, Ireland and, for some reason, Cambodia. Some find it funnier than an elephant’s vagina, some find it more disgusting, and a few seem capable of holding both views simultaneously. The film won’t have a screening for the media until after press time in Canada, but look for a review online at nationalpost.com on Friday morning.
