ZDENO CHARA’S BIG ASK FOR A BIG MAC

It’s probably a good thing that Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara doesn’t speak French. The 6- foot- 9, 250-pound giant was in Montreal on Super Bowl Sunday recording a commercial for McDonald’s. In the ad, Canadiens fans are asked: “What would you be willing to do for a Big Mac?” After some fans do a dance, others do jumping jacks and some do pushups, the interviewer asks: “Would you be willing to hug Zdeno Chara?” “Not sure,” one Canadiens fan says. “That’s asking a lot,” says another. Another says simply: “No.” Chara, pictured on the right, then appears from behind a curtain and says: “Hey, guys. How are you?” He adds: “Come on guys, show some love.” One fan wearing a Canadiens sweater responds: “I can’t do this wearing my jersey.” “Some of them were cursing,” Chara said of the experience. “Even though I don’t understand French, I could kind of understand what they were saying.”
