- Amoryn Engel Financial Post

Hundreds of the best and brightest executives from across the country came together to celebrate the 11th annual Canada’s Most Admired Awards gala at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

More than 700 people attended the event, which celebrated exceptional Canadian organizations for having a culture that has helped them enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage.

Also honoured were the five of Canada’s Most Admired CEOs of the Year, in four separate categories, for driving this culture throughout their organizations: Broader Public Sector, Craig and Marc Kielburger, co-founders, Free the Children; Growth and Small Cap, Wehuns Tan, CEO and co-founder, Flipp Corp.; Mid-Market, David “Patch” Patchell-Evans, founder and CEO, Goodlife Fitness; and Enterprise, Chuck Jeannes, CEO, Goldcorp.

The evening was preceded by the Canadian CEO Summit with more than 85 chief executives in attendance and the Corporate Culture Summit that saw a record 300 attendees engaging in a learning and networking event. The Canada’s Most Admired program was founded and presented by Waterstone Human Capital, one of Canada’s leading cultural talent management firms. They specialize in cultural assessment and measurement, consulting services that maximize culture to drive competitive advantage and recruiting for fit through executive search.

“Today, we celebrate this rapidly advancing business strategy and cause that Waterstone along with our current and former winners have advanced together and truly value: a cause that recognizes that culture is the single greatest competitive advantage organizations have,” said Marty Parker, Waterstone CEO and founder of Canada’s Most Admired. “You can copy strategy, and you can duplicate tactics, but you cannot replicate the collective behaviour of any one organization, and thus is what differentiates organizations and sets them apart.”

Canada’s Most Admired 2015 Program Partners include founder and presenter Waterstone Human Capital; Chair of Most Admired CEO: MacKay CEO Forums; Media Partner: National Post; Travel Partner: Air Canada; and Partner: Ceridian HCM.
