STRIKE UP THE BAND

- Connie Adair

It’s an oooh-ahhhh kind of place, a lush and private hidden treasure property that offers something for everyone.

The six-acre treed property at the end of a hard-to-find culde-sac has a 13,000-square-foot stone- and- stucco home that took two years to build.

The grand residence offers large sunbathed principal rooms for those who love to spend time with friends in front of a fireplace or for a meal in an elegant dining room.

The kitchen/ family room has a centre island and builtin appliances. This casual space overlooks a patio, a pool, a water feature and a cabana. The property also has a pond with a bridge.

The main floor has a twostorey foyer, an office and a studio that has a built- in bookcase and desk.

A gas fireplace adds warmth to the master suite, which has a walk- in closet with built-ins fit to house the most treasured garments. A six- piece ensuite bathroom completes the master suite.

Film buffs will race to the large, comfortable theatre. It won an award for best design at a home entertainment show, the homeowner says.

Musicians’ hearts will skip a beat when they discover the professional recording studio. “The studio/entertainment area has hosted numerous 100- plus- person parties featuring local Toronto bands. The studio is a professionallevel recording environment with alive performance stage, control room, vocal booth and three more separate recording rooms,” the homeowner says.

The house, built for serious fun and entertainment, also has a gym that has a walkout to the backyard. An elevator connects all the levels.

The coach house has a onebedroom apartment, which has been occupied by housekeepers and renters, he says. Rumour has it that a “Toronto Maple Leafs player rented it and the pond, and hosted a number of pretty good weekend shinny games.”

The circular driveway provides parking space for 20 cars for grand events. The car collector will appreciate the built-in seven-bay garage.

The marquee estate property is in Lorne Park, in an excellent school district, says listing agent Bev Jones of ReMax Professionals, who has listed the property with Steve Broadhurst.
