ACCESSIBLE SOPHISTICATION ABOUNDS IN THE MODEL FOR PIER 27 LISA VAN DE VEN

-

Bright accents pop against a neutral backdrop in the Townhouse 122 model at Pier 27. Featuring an aesthetic that design consultant Kim Jones calls “accessible sophistication,” the space combines traditional furniture and dark hardwood floors with contemporary Euro-style two-toned kitchen cabinetry. Metallic accessories and orange accents add extra personality to the space. “If you were a buyer coming from Europe, you would come in here and feel very comfortable,” says Jones, principal with Kim Jones & Co. “But it’s still very warm, which brings in the politeness of Canada.” Remaining units at Pier 27 — by Cityzen Development Group and Fernbrook Homes — range from 585 to 4,474 square feet and are priced from $464,900 to $5,268,000. The sales office is located at 25 Queens Quay E., Toronto and open Monday to Thursday from noon to 6 p.m., Friday by appointment and weekends from noon to 5 p.m. Call 416-367-3456 or visit pier27tower.com.

“It started as a photo,” Jones says of the art featured on the master bedroom wall. She had PI Creative Art work on the photo depicting a cut of a tree trunk to create one large- scale image in six frames. “It has a warmth to it,” she adds.

Texture and contrast add dimension to the bedroom, where the dark wood bedroom set features a shimmering mother-of-pearl inset, and an orange area rug adds more than just a colourful accent. “You want something warm and fuzzy on your feet when you get out of bed,” Jones says.

An upstairs den doubles as a home office and reading nook, with this dark wood desk the focal point. Featuring gold drawers and ornate wood detailing, it’s paired with a contrasting off-white chair with micro-suede upholstery and nailhead accents. Accessories on top add a lived-in look.

A grey flannel reclining chair creates a “super comfy” nook for reading, with a contemporary chrome standing light behind. An area rug adds a pop of pattern, integrating the orange tone used throughout the home with neutral hues of grey, cream and black.
