MAN DEAD, WOMAN INJURED IN STABBING AT CALGARY MALL

A man is dead and a woman wounded after a knife attack in a north Calgary doctor’s office Thursday that police said appeared to be domestic in nature. Police and paramedics were called to the Perpetual Wellness Chinese Medicine Centre at a strip mall and found the male victim dead and a woman, believed to be in her mid- 50s, suffering what paramedics termed “minor soft- tissue injury.” A female witness said she saw the woman with cuts to her wrist. A male who appeared to have blood on him was led away in handcuffs by police. Signage at the clinic identifies the practising physician as Dr. Tiejun Huang, who served as a sports medicine specialist at the Beijing Olympic Games. Pictured, police investigat­ors at the scene.
