DON’T YOU HATE IT WHEN A BLACK HOLE SWALLOWS YOU?

- Chris Knight, National Post

I’ve heard of falling hard for someone, but this is ridiculous. Just after Lucy ( Alison Brie) declares her love for fellow, married teacher Clint ( Colin Hanks), the guy goes and tumbles down a hole in her living room. Not that it’s his fault, mind you; the orifice, a large, black circle not generally seen outside of Looney Tunes cartoons, opens up under his feet. Don’t you hate it when that happens? Now she has to keep her dad, Clint’s wife, a shady bookie ( Justin Chatwin) and the rest of the town from finding out about the metaphor that just swallowed her love interest. The film is a first feature from Toronto director Nick Wernham. No Stranger Than Love opens June 17 at the Carlton in Toronto.
