Bold yet restrained

DESIGNER BRINGS ‘EFFORTLESS STYLE’ TO TRIDEL’S ALTO AND PARKSIDE MODEL BY LISA VAN DE VEN

-

“We tried to have fun with it,” says Stella Salvador, principal interior designer with developer Tridel. “We kept it subdued and subtle, but it still looks fresh.” Suite 128 at Alto and Parkside at Atria — one of two new models on display at the nearly completed site — features a neutral palette, but with an eclectic design that matches quirky with classic, playing with pattern and texture. “It’s a minimalist suite,” Salvador adds. “It has effortless style that’s carefully curated, with a few personality pieces.” Remaining units at Alto and Parkside range from 575 to 1,207 square feet and are priced from $291,000 to $603,000. The sales office is located at 2255 Sheppard Ave. E., Unit 120, North York, and open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends and holidays from noon to 6 p.m. Call 416- 645-8866 or visit tridel.com.

1“It’s a bit quirky,” Salvador says of this hand-themed stool from Elte. The reinforced ceramic seat doubles as a sculpture in the living room, while another chair, also from Elte, adds “a bit of informality,” she says, with a chrome frame and suspended cowhide seat.

2This armless sofa from Decorium, upholstered in grey velvet, brings texture to the space, while the grey-and-white area rug adds pattern. While the rug may have been chosen to catch the eye, the two waterfall glass tables “almost disappear,” says Salvador, helping keep sightlines open.

3A dark taupe accent wall makes the master bedroom “more cosy,” says Salvador, who’s contrasted it with an upholstered white headboard and black-on-white chevron bedding. “We don’t have a lot of pattern in this room, but what we do have is bold and striking,” she adds.

4A nightstand on one side of the bed is paired with a dresser on the other, the mirrored finish of them, and matching chrome lamps on top, creating consistency. The two furniture pieces, both from Casalife, “give the room some reflection, a little bit of glamour,” Salvador says.
