Like Matthews, Lemieux scored in his NHL debut on Oct. 11, 1984, on his first shift of the game. The Penguins legend added an assist, although Pittsburgh fell 4- 3 to the Boston Bruins. Lemieux was the No. 1 pick in the 1984 draft and finished his rookie season with 43 goals and 100 points.
