REVIVED JEEP GRAND WAGONEER COULD TOP US$140,000
The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is on the cusp of returning and when it does, it’ll carry an unheard-of price tag — for a Jeep, that is. Speaking to AutoExpress at the Paris Motor Show, Jeep CEO Mike Manley said there isn’t a price ceiling just yet, but “pushing the car up to US$130,000 or US$140,000” once the Grand Wagoneer is “establish[ed] ... in its own right first” might be a possibility. To be fair, it’s not that crazy of a price point. The likes of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz routinely play in that price bracket and, if the upper-echelon of the Grand Cherokee lineup prove anything, it’s that Jeep can definitely do luxury. Currently, the priciest Jeep is the Grand Cherokee SRT, starting at $71,945 before options. Count on seeing the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer hit the market within two years.
