Wishing Bismack would come back

- Ryan Wolstat @ WolstatSun

Bismack Biyombo made his return to Toronto on Sunday and the Raptors looked like a team missing, well, Bismack Biyombo.

The team’s step- back defensively this season isn’t all because of Biyombo’s departure in free agency, but he is definitely missed.

Cory Joseph talked earlier in the year of each defender losing that half-a-step buffer they felt when Biyombo was directing traffic and guarding the rim behind them and Casey said his team misses the swagger and defensive protection Biyombo brought to the table.

“Just his athletic ability … and his communication I would say is the one thing that you miss, that big baritone voice defensively and that’s one thing that our young centres have to learn to do a better job of, is communicate with confidence, l oud, continuous,” Casey said even before the wheels fell off repeatedly in Sunday’s 114-113 loss to Biyombo’s Orlando Magic..
