ALEC BALDWIN’S BOOK IS COMING ... CUE THE TWITTER FEUD

- Sadaf Ahsan, National Post

With a new memoir set for release this month, there is no shortage of news coming from the Alec Baldwin camp, but so far, a lot of it hasn’t exactly placed the actor in the most positive light. On Wednesday, an excerpt from his book Nevertheless was released revealing that when he shot the 2006 movie Mini’s First Time, in which he plays a man who has an affair with his stepdaughter, Baldwin didn’t know Nikki Reed, the young actress playing the daughter, was only 17 until the end of filming. “I was 47, and it never occurred to me to ask how old Nikki Reed was,” Baldwin wrote. The producers of the film were not happy about his reveal, with Dana Brunetti taking to the Hollywood Reporter to immediately condemn Baldwin’s alleged denial, insisting the actor knew all along. In fact, Brunetti said, Baldwin handpicked Reed out of four actresses who made the final round of casting. Baldwin decided to respond to Brunetti’s claims on Twitter, leading to a brutal and lengthy war of words between the two for the rest of the night.
