CAINE SAYS HE VOTED FOR BREXIT TO DEFEND ‘FREEDOM’
Esteemed British actor Michael Caine has revealed he voted for the controversial Brexit late last year for “freedom.” In an interview with Sky News, the actor said, “I voted for Brexit. What it is with me, I’d rather be a poor master than a rich servant. It wasn’t about the racism, immigrants or anything, it was about freedom.” Months before the vote, Caine said to the BBC that Britain both staying or leaving the European Union seemed like “scary” prospects, though he certainly seemed to be leaning one way. “To me, I think what you have in Europe is a government-by-proxy of everybody who has now got carried away. I think that, unless there are some extremely significant changes we should get out, I feel certain we should come out.”
