U. S. double standard

Re: U.S. hits Syria airbase, April 7

In response to the horrendous chemical weapons attack in Syria, an agonized U. S. President Donald Trump is almost struck wordless for the “… babies, little babies …” who were killed and injured.

But the next day, after North Korea tested a missile, Trump tweeted his inclination to order an unprovoked attack to take out its nuclear bomb- building and ICBM delivery installations. This attack would likely kill thousands of little North Korean babies. The barbarism would be as blameworthy as the atrocities in Syria.

Trump must “keep his powder dry” until the North Koreans initiate a conflict. Only then will the opinion of the world support a measured American response. Derek Wilson, Port Moody, B. C.
