Who can trust defence plans?

Re: Ottawa plans major boost for military, John Ivison, June 8

-

With much ballyhoo, the Trudeau government announced a new defence policy, which outlines their l ong- term plan to spend billions and billions of dollars to acquire more planes, more ships and more troops. Promises made about the distant future are often described as being backend loaded. No doubt the expression was first coined by a farmer with a large manure spreader.

Who better to announce such a grandiose plan than the current Defence Minister, Harjit Sajjan, the man who shamefully embellished his military accomplishments in Afghanistan and still has the gall to expect Canadians will trust him? Lloyd Atkins, Vernon, B. C.
