Prison to model to scandal, the story of ‘Hot Convict’

Now marriage on rocks after salacious affair

If you’re a regular reader of the odd tabloid or happen to keep an eye on the catwalk, then you’ll know the name Jeremy Meeks, or perhaps one of his other handles: “Prison Bae,” “Hot Felon,” or “Hot Convict.”

How did he get s uch adorable monikers, you might ask?

Well, Meeks first made headlines in 2014 when his mugshot went viral after being sentenced for a felony weapons conviction.

Needless to say, the man behind t he smouldering mugshot was quite t he looker, tattoos and all, from Meeks’s Sinatra blues to his ice cold stare.

And just like that, a prison star was born.

After going viral, t he criminal was sought after and seduced by the fashion elite, with modelling agencies around the world lining up to attain Meeks, solely based on his mugshot.

Upon his release from prison, he signed to White Cross Management, and in his New York Fashion week debut this year, Meeks opened Philipp Plein’s show at the New York Public Library with pantaloons perfectly in tatters — as if to suggest he just jumped a chain-link fence.

M eeks became fast friends with French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld, and has accumulated over a million followers to his Instagram account, now packed with shots of him lounging on yacht sand catching planes everywhere from Istanbul to Italy.

Through all of Meeks’s criminal and fashion exploits, there was one woman always by his side — his wife Melissa, who is also the mother of their seven- yearold son Jeremy, Jr.

She is also mother to two children from a previous relationship, who are also close to Meeks.

Which brings us to last week’s scandal, when Prison Bae was caught canoodling on a yacht with 26- yearold Topshop heiress Chloe Green in Turkey, leaving his wife “devastated” and “humiliated” after seeing the photos online.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Melissa said, “I went into shock. I felt nauseated.

It was like a bomb had gone off and my whole world had been bl own apart. I’d never heard of Chloe Green. I thought Jeremy was working.” A likely story indeed. Melissa says she was unable to reach Prison Bae for several days after discovering the photos, and only managed to speak to him when he showed up on their doorstep to take the kids out for the Fourth of July.

When Melissa confronted her husband, she said, “He kept saying, ‘ I’m sorry, you didn’ t deserve t his.’ We talked about divorce. I told him I didn’t think the marriage could be saved. He agreed. The marriage is over.”

He claimed his phone had not been working, despite having posted to social media several times during his salacious affair, apologizing to Melissa “not for the affair, but for the way I learned about it. ... Those pictures will haunt me forever.”

She said of Green, “I know it takes two to tango, but she knew he was married. To me, that’s unforgivable. My whole world has been torn apart by this. What do I tell our children? My heart is broken.”

The story got a bit sadder this week when Meeks filed for separation from Melissa, after eight years together, according to TMZ .
