ONE-BEDROOM-PLUS-DEN UNITS DECORATED IN YOUTHFUL, URBAN ESTHETIC BY LISA VAN DE VEN

-

We’ve had a lot of feedback on one-bedroom-plus-den units in Mississauga,” says Anson Kwok, vice president of sales and marketing with Pinnacle International. Lighter, brighter suites in that size range are popular, he says, which is why the one-bedroom-plus-den model suite at Perla — the developer’s newest building in their Mississauga community, Pinnacle Uptown — is designed largely in tones of white, with light taupe and wood accents to keep it from feeling stark. The result is a youthful, urban esthetic that’s contemporary but comfortable. “It feels very cool and airy,” says Kwok, who worked with Tanner Hill Associates on the suite. Units at Perla range from 576 to 1,082 square feet and start in the $300,000s. The sales office is located at 5044 Hurontario St., Mississauga and open Monday to Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Call 905-5689000 or visit pinnacleinternational.ca.

1 “It’s actually been our most popular choice,” Kwok says of the model’s white kitchen. Buyers at the Mississauga community have gravitated toward the high-gloss white cabinets, which here feature integrated pulls and are paired with a grey brick-style backsplash and quartz countertops. “It just feels lighter,” he adds.

2 While the kitchen and majority of the suite might be white, the dining room light fixture makes a statement with its black and wood design. “It really creates contrast to all the white and lighter furniture,” Kwok says. “It’s bold and stands out in the space.”

3 Rustic accents throughout the otherwise contemporary suite add texture and personality – and the wood base of the marble-top dining table is just one example. It’s paired with upholstered chairs featuring patterned backs and nail head detailing around the edges. “There’s a little more flair to them,” Kwok says.

4 Taupe- grey laminate floors and light taupe walls create a neutral backdrop to the space. But the designers added extra personality with a textured wallpaper accent wall behind the sofa and an area rug in the living room that brings in hues of blue, orange and yellow.
