FAST & FURIOUS 9 RELEASE PUSHED BACK A YEAR TO 2020

The Fast and the Furious team is putting the brakes on the ninth instalment in the franchise. Universal Pictures said Wednesday the film’s release will move back a year to April 10, 2020. It was originally set for release in April, 2019. As a result of the shuffle, Universal will move the animated Trolls 2 forward by two months from April 10, 2020, to Feb. 14, 2020. The latest film in the Fast and Furi- ous series, The Fate of the Furious, came out earlier this year and went on to gross around US$ 1.2 billion worldwide. It was directed by F. Gary Gray and starred Vin Diesel and Charlize Theron, pictured, as well as Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Scott Eastwood, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky and Kurt Russell.
