RESTAURANT ‘PROUDLY’ SERVES POPEYES CHICKEN

Sweet Dixie Kitchen, a restaurant in Long Beach, Calif., was called out on Yelp for passing off Popeyes chicken as its own. Yelp user Tyler H. reportedly saw a staff member carrying a Popeyes box and asked the server “how they cooked their fried chicken.” According to Longbeachize and FoodBeast (via Eater), Tyler H. received confirmation from the employee that the fried chicken was from Popeyes. In a twist, restaurant owner Kim Sanchez responded to the review, copping to the accusation and expressing pride in Popeyes. “We PROUDLY SERVE Popeyes’ spicy tenders — the best fried chicken anywhere and from New Orleans — which are delivered twice a day.
