DOCTOR WHO EPISODE COMPLETED 38 YEARS AFTER FIRST FILMING

-

Way back in 1979, Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’s Douglas Adams penned an episode of Doctor Who, featuring Tom Baker’s fourth Doctor, pictured, but the project was never completed. Now, the BBC is planning to restore the episode, titled Shada, combining the original live- action with new animated scenes to fill in the blanks. Baker will be making a one-episode return. But this isn’t the first time Shada has resurfaced. In 1983, clips from the episode were used to make up for Baker’s absence in a special featuring all five doctors, and all of what remained was released in 1992, along with a narration from Baker to piece it together, followed by an audio play in 2003. However, this will be the first time, 38 years later, it will be broadcast as a whole narrative.
