What to watch on Netflix and CraveTV this month.
WHAT TO CATCH ON NETFLIX AND CRAVETV IN APRIL
What happens when, after waking up one morning, you find your entire family has just vanished from the earth? Amidst the guilt and grief are questions of faith and belief, all answered in their own way on The Leftovers, which, after coming to a close last summer on HBO, has arrived on CraveTV, and couldn’t make for a better or more morose weekend in.
Sure, you might find yourself crying up an ocean of tears by each episode’s end, but you’ll also feel replenished, cleansed and with a new outlook on life and death. Featuring underrated performances from Carrie Coon, Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston and Ann Dowd, it’s an emotional feast. Dig in already!
Ride that wave of tears and cap it off with Fried Green Tomatoes or Loving Vincent on Netflix, because, again, there is nothing more cathartic than giving your emotions the space to unleash.
But if you’d prefer a lighter night and something a little more superficial, MTV reignites its Jersey Shore magic with Floribama Shore ( CraveTV), which follows a fresh, young, unwashed cast as they spend their summer in “the hottest beach town on the Gulf Coast.” Just an FYI: You’re likely to experience liver damage by proxy.

YOUR OFF- THEBEATEN- PATH RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK DARIA ON CRAVETV
There is no greater feminist icon of the 1990s than Daria Morgendorffer, the most deadpan, sarcastic misanthrope to ever hit television (“I don’t like to smile unless I have a reason.”). This MTV animated series tackled the miseries of highschool life, and the ennui of being surrounded by idiots. It will also give you an appreciation for Beavis and Butthead, from which it, shockingly enough, spun-off (so that Daria could serve as the sole character to voice j ust how dim- witted the pair were, naturally). Herself inspired by one of the acerbic, angsty heroines of the decade, Darlene Connor, Daria also served as inspiration for the April Ludgates and Britta Perrys to come. Devour all fives seasons and feel your cynicism and contempt for humanity rise.
