READY FOR ACTION
A different type of political party descended on Toronto, and those in attendance won’t soon forget it
Pretty young things descended on hot-spot Colette for an exquisite luncheon hosted by Birks to preview their sparkling new Pétale collection. Jean-Christophe Bédos, president and CEO of Birks, and Eva Hartling, CMO of Birks, welcomed guests who browsed the collection that pays tribute to spring in full bloom. Champagne was on offer and the recent cold weather was far from anyone’s mind. Homegrown starlets Caitlin Cronenberg and Amanda Brugel – two of the beauties who grace Birks’ ad campaign, #TheGreatCanadianExport – were both in attendance at the luncheon.
“Drawing inspiration from Canada’s key pillars of nature, we welcomed spring to Toronto with the launch of our latest collection, Birks Pétale,” said Bédos. “This collection represents new beginnings and a
fresh start – a perfect introduction as we continue to highlight and celebrate feminine independence.”
Each guest left with a pretty blue box, complete with a pair of Birks Pétale silver stud earrings.
CJPAC’s annual Toronto ACTION Party was a packed-to-the rafters hit as hundreds of young professionals filled The Rec Room in downtown Toronto for a night of socializing with a political edge. Now in it’s 12th year, ACTION is a unique evening that brings together young professionals, elected officials from all levels of government, business leaders and philanthropists to celebrate political engagement.
“CJPAC’s mandate remains as relevant today as it did when we began our work over 12 years ago,” said Mark Waldman, CJPAC’s executive director. “We are a community-driven organization which provides a platform to understand and engage in our democracy. With the Ontario provincial election right around the corner, we think the ACTION Party is a unique way to get young people excited about the political process.”
Party co-chairs Omar Khan, Ilan Orzy, Sarina Rehal and Kortney Shapiro welcomed all of those in attendance. Sponsors included American Farm Investment Corporation, The Catalyst Capital Group Inc., Gerald & Heather Reisman, Greensoil Investments and Mitchell Goldhar.
