Besides affecting a woman’s gait, balance and posture, they cause serious foot, hamstring, knee, back, neck and shoulder problems.

Osteopathic specialists could also tell you of the blisters and bleeding feet they encounter in women who wear stiletto heels.

There is no reason shoemakers cannot make comfortable, low-heeled shoes that are stylish and affordable. ($800 and up? Yikes!) Marian Gibbs, North Vancouver
