DR. DRE GOES UNDERGROUND TO EXPAND L.A. MANSION
Dr. Dre is planning to expand his huge Los Angeles mansion by building a mammoth fortified basement. The hip-hop superstar turned business mogul bought the home in L.A.’s upscale Brentwood neighbourhood from football star Tom Brady in 2014 for $40 million, and he is now plotting home improvements that could increase its value by millions. Documents obtained by TMZ.com show that he plans to dig up an area of his property, roughly equal in size to the existing mansion, so he can build a bunker-like basement. Dre, real name Andre Young, is also reportedly planning to add retaining walls to his garden and fortify his home with a guard house. His mansion features an infinity pool with an ocean view, a poolside cabana, a gym, an outdoor kitchen and living area, seven fireplaces and a moat.
