No sympathy

It would be a travesty if Doug Ford were to grant an indulgence to the remnants of the Ontario Liberals, allowing them official party status.
For 15 years, they impoverished Ontario, a reckless betrayal of the good citizens of this once powerful component of Canadian prosperity. Under their watch, profligate spending on unworkable projects, extreme arrogance and an absolutely blatant disregard for our well-being, have led to Ontario, and therefore we the taxpayers, being mired in debt costing a billion dollars a month in interest payments.
So, let them lick their wounds and experience some monetary disadvantages. They deserve it. Our children and grandchildren will be paying the price long after this bunch and their cohorts have departed Queen’s Park, no doubt enjoying their lovely pensions where hydro rates are low. Stick it to them Doug. Richard Steyn, Thornhill, Ont. Doug Ford owes the Liberals nothing. Overwhelmingly rejected by voters in all parts of Ontario and in almost 90 per cent of the ridings they held, Kathleen Wynne and her crew personally and politically vilified Ford as the evil incarnate while they were drenching us in billions upon billions of election goodies without any regard for the minor matter of actually having to pay for them.
Let them marinade for a few years in the total obscurity they have so richly earned without getting any support from Ontario taxpayers which, after taking our provincial debt to the stratosphere, they simply do not deserve. Walter Tedman, Kingston, Ont.
