BOMBARDIER TO SPEND MILLIONS ON TORONTO HUB
Bombardier Inc. will spend millions supporting academic research and the establishment of an aerospace hub in Toronto’s Downsview area. The plane and train maker announced Thursday it would provide funding for various projects, including a $1.5-million investment in the Toronto Aeromaterials Research Centre to support work on aircraft noise reduction, advanced cabin development
and other research. The company will support nearly $1 million toward the Downsview Aerospace Innovation and Research Consortium’s Innovation Centre, and provide $1 million toward the creation of two Aerospace Research Centres with Ryerson University and the University of Toronto. It will also give $2.5 million to refurbish a heritage building.
