Wine cellar dwellers

- Adam Bisby Special to the National Post

Some condo- dwellers don’t have to go far to take a passion for wine to the next level.

At 277 Davenport Rd., a mid-rise condo in the Annex, the two- bedroom top- floor unit features a 900- bottle wine cellar that opens onto an expansive chef ’s kitchen with a Corian-clad island.

Four blocks to the southeast, the boutique seven- storey property at 36 Hazelton Ave. is home to a residents- only wine tasting room and private wine cellar.

To take the love of vino to the next, next level, there’s always the 9,000-square-foot penthouse atop Yorkville’s Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences, featuring hidden refrigerators.

There are plenty of wine- related amenities in condos outside the GTA, too. A 40th- floor unit in Montreal’s Tour des Canadiens 1 property has its own cellar, for instance, while the shared wine storage in the Sanderson Ridge development next to Calgary’s Fish Creek Park is the focal point of a popular community wine club.
