September 25, 1985 - Alberta premier Peter Lougheed officially opened the $30-million Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontol­ogy in Drumheller, Alta. Located in “Dinosaur Valley,” Drumheller is the undisputed dinosaur capital of Canada, and a must-see for any serious Jurassic Park fan. The museum is named after surveyor and explorer Joseph Burr Tyrrell, who discovered dinosaur remains near the present museum site in 1884, and is featured in a Heritage Minute.
