Behnaz Ebrahimi- Khoei was a property valuation analyst with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation in Toronto, where she worked for seven years.
“She wi l l be greatly missed by all those who had the opportunity to work with her,” said Nicole Mcneill, president of the corporation, who described her as a “highly valuable and respected” part of the team.
Ebrahimi trained as a software engineer in Iran and earned a degree in computer engineering at the University of Tehran. In Canada, she worked in quality assurance with Compugen, an IT company in Richmond Hill, Ont., for a few years until 2013.
After additional training, she was just one exam away from completing her Canadian Residential Appraiser designation. She was a steward with OPSEU.
“Her co-workers knew her as a kind-hearted person and a dedicated mother,” said Warren Thomas, OPSEU president.
Her son, Rahmtin Ahmadi, 9, was with her on the plane. He was a Grade 4 student at Muirhead Public School in Toronto.
