Prescott back talking contract
Long-term deal could see QB get US $35M a year
After several weeks of silence, the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott have “re- engaged in bigmoney, long- term” contract talks, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
There’s talk that a deal could be in the four-year, $35 per season range, with rumblings the team is pushing for five seasons.
Prescott, who received the exclusive franchise tag last week, could become the highest paid player in the league if and when the contract gets done — at least until Patrick Mahomes signs his extension.

The lawsuit states the world’s largest internet- based retailer brought “significant damage” to the league MVP’S brand.
❚ ❚ BEARS DOWN WITH CANADIAN: In an attempt to fill the large void left by the retirement of right guard Kyle Long, the Chicago Bears have reportedly signed former Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Germain Ifedi to a one year deal. The Bears sent out a release on their media email list Thursday announcing they have signed seven free agents — and Ifedi was not among them. Four were on the team last season, including Canadian defensive end Brent Urban, who’s from Mississauga and joined the team prior to Week 8 in 2019. Urban has also been with the Ravens and Titans in his five seasons … DB Deon Bush, QB Tyler Bray, long snapper Patrick Scales have also agreed to return to Chicago, while the Bears have signed former Steelers DB Artie Burns and DB Jordan Lucas, who spent the last two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs … The seventh was TE Jimmy Graham, who officially signed his two-year deal with the Bears and said, via The Athletic, that Chicago has the right plan for him and he is “excited to play for Ryan Pace again.” The Bears GM was with the New Orleans Saints when they drafted Graham in 2010. “I’m hungrier than ever,” said Graham.
❚ ❚ THRE’S COMPANY: Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen and Washington Redskins QB Kyle Allen rented a place together in Southern California after the season and they’ve been joined in workouts by New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold, who lives just a few minutes away. The three pivots have been “quarantined” together at the beach where they throw and use a small weight room. Other than that, the Allens are locked up with their girlfriends. “This is really how we lived anyway,” Kyle Allen told Si.com. “It’s just 24/7 now.”
❚ ❚ EXTRA POINTS: The Indianapolis Colts have signed former three- time Pro Bowl CB Xavier Rhodes, who is coming off an off- season in Minnesota … The Bills have reportedly signed CB E. J. Gaines, who hasn’t played since he had six games with the Cleveland Browns in 2018. Gaines, who has had injury issues, started 11 games for Buffalo in 2017 and is expected to challenge for a starting job this season … CB Darqueze Dennard is a free agent after all. Reports that he had a deal to remain with the Jacksonville Jaguars were shot down by the team, which stated it could not come to final contract terms with the veteran, who spent the past six seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.
