Alleged fraudster’s incredible car collection to be auctioned

- Alex Reid Driving. ca

An incredible car collection is up for auction featuring some of the most unbelievable vehicles ever created, all thanks to a spate of lawsuits tied to alleged tax-based fraud.

Najeeb Khan was the CEO of Interlogic Outsourcing, and spent years putting the collection of 230 vehicles and 30 motorcycles together.

Khan is now being accused of fraud, rendered bankrupt by several creditors and facing a federal investigation — and everything must go.

The collection includes examples of just about every important car in the history of motoring. At a quick glance, we can see a 1967 Toyota 2000GT, 1968 Iso Grifo, 1955 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, 1966 Shelby GT350 Hertz, 1965 Aston Martin DB5 with a Vantage engine, 1953 Fiat 8V Supersonic by Ghia, 1969 Lamborghini Miura S, and even one of Jaguar’s new Lightweight E-type recreations. The collection even boasts novelties that include a Messerschmitt microcar and a 1966 Amphicar 770.

Khan also picked out a selection of newer vehicles that have commanded the attention of enthusiasts, such as a 2010 Alfa Romeo TZ3 Zagato, 2005 Morgan Aero 8, and a 2006 Ford GT formerly owned by Wayne Gretzky. It also includes tons of memorabilia and parts, including engines, body panels, artwork, literature and spares.

The vehicles will be sold without reserve, but every car is significant, rare and valuable. The auction will be held between Oct. 23 and 24, and hosted by Canadian- headquartered RM Sotheby’s.
