GOOGLE SHAKES UP LEADERSHIP RANKS
Alphabet Inc.’s Google is shaking up its top leadership, giving the head of advertising control over the company’s search engine and moving leaders who’ve been around since the company’s founding to less visible teams. Prabhakar Raghavan, pictured, who has led advertising since 2018 will replace Ben Gomes as head of search. The new advertising chief, Jerry Dischler, will report to Raghavan, signalling the two groups will now be run by one central leader. Gomes, who has been at the company for two decades, will work on educational and culture projects, a spokesman said. Jen Fitzpatrick, also 20-year employee, will move from Maps to lead a group of engineers running the company’s internal tech infrastructure. The executive changes are the most significant since Sundar Pichai became Google and Alphabet chief executive.
