HEPBURN, HOWARD HUGHES ITEMS AT AUCTION

Many of the letters Katharine Hepburn wrote to Howard Hughes will be auctioned in Los Angeles for the first time on July 23. The company said “… they’re very, very juicy,” and are expected to fetch up to $15,000. The emerald-and-diamond engagement ring he gave her in 1938 (they never married) will also be on the block at the Profiles in History auction. Other items include the jacket he wore while piloting his Spruce Goose flying boat and his fedora.
