Don’t play ball

-

Re: MLB Can’t Get Bat Off Its Shoulder, Scott Stinson, July 7.

At some point in their lives, rob Manfred, the commissioner of Major League Baseball, and his staff surely must have been the victims of concussions resulting from beanballs. how else can one explain the lunacy of attempting to play baseball during the COVID-19 pandemic?

The fact that numerous players have tested positive for the virus and the fact that the Canadian border is closed to Americans underlines the craziness of this decision. Common sense would indicate that the game can only resume once a vaccine has been developed. Kudos to the players who are opting out of this disastrous idea. Bob Erwin, Ottawa.
