Rare opportunity arises in inner-city Currie for homes with triple-car garages

- ALEX FRAZER-HARRISON

A new phase of custom home lots in Currie promises to set new standards for inner-city living.

But only six lots are available in the current phase from Crystal Creek Homes.

“We have a limited number of lots that can accommodate front-attached garages — triple-car garages — and, in Currie, that type of lot hasn’t been offered in a long time,” says community manager Jason Benko. “There’s been a real pent-up demand for this type of lot. Currie is one of Calgary’s best-kept secrets.”

The frontage of lots ranges from 42 to 60 feet.

There is also an extremely limited inventory of soughtafter park-facing lots available, adds Benko.

“Our buyers include young professionals with young children, who have worked hard and know what they want,” Benko says. “To find something like what we offer on MLS as a used home is tough. They have discerning tastes, and are willing to wait to get exactly what they want.”

Benko says this is a perfect time to build the custom home of your dreams in one of Calgary’s last new innercity neighbourhoods.

“We have the best of everything to offer: the best trades, pricing, design, promotions (upgrades) and banks are offering the best interest rates.”

Creek Homes lives up to its acclaim by providing buyers with a personalized consultation experience.

“When we sit down with potential clients, it’s truly a ‘discovery’ meeting,” says Benko.

“We help them pick a location first and then determine their design criteria. We design their home and educate them on the different levels of finishings, the construction process, the warranties. We offer personalization throughout the process; we don’t paint people with the same brush. At the end, they’re in a position to make an informed decision.”

Currie itself is a masterplanned community, which means strict architectural guidelines around elevation, colour palettes and esthetics, Benko adds.

“The beauty of Currie is you have a fully masterplanned community where you can be downtown in 10 minutes, or out of town in 10 minutes. We’re ultimately selling convenience and lifestyle.”

There is abundant shopping within a short distance, including several major grocery stores, and the region is close to many schools, including Clear Water Academy, a highly rated private school. As well, Mount Royal University is a short walk away.

The entire community — where Crystal Creek has been a builder since Day 1 — is designed for families.

“You’ll never have someone cutting through Currie to get somewhere else … it’s a true destination,” Benko says.

Prices start at just under $1.1 million, including home, lot, GST and custom landscape design that includes sidewalk, irrigation and fencing. “It’s totally turnkey,” says Benko.
