Battle of the Blades première postponed
The season 6 debut of Canadian ice skating competition Battle of the Blades has been postponed, due to a positive COVID-19 test among the crew. The show was set to air a live première Oct. 15 on CBC. “As a precautionary measure in response to an individual on the Battle of the Blades production team testing positive for COVID-19, Insight Productions has temporarily halted all training and pre-production on the upcoming season to ensure the health and safety of the entire cast and crew,” read a statement. A new debut date hasn’t been set. Battle of the Blades pairs hockey players with figure skaters as they vie for the Crystal Trophy and a $100,000 donation to the charity of their choice. This season, Hockey Night in Canada’s Ron Maclean returns as host.
