COVID MEASURES TIGHTENED AS CASES SURGE
Poland announced sweeping new anti-covid restrictions Friday as the number of virus infections surged across central and eastern europe.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki cited new restrictions including closing bars, allowing only takeout services at restaurants and making most schools teach online and warned of a “fullscale lockdown” for Poland’s 38 million people, including closing borders.
Poland reported 13,632 positive test results on Thursday, a new record, with 10,788 people hospitalized.
