“Units in this building rarely come up, so once I spread the word exclusively about this listing, I had a lineup of agents with their clients looking to take a peek at the unit (with proper COVID- 19 protocols of course). Once on MLS, it lasted just three days,” says listing agent Bram Goldman of Remax Hallmark Richards Group Realty Ltd.

“We received one offer and were able to successfully come to an agreement where both the seller and buyer were happy. We sold at 99 per cent of the asking price.”

Buyers were drawn by the location and its proximity to shops, restaurants, museums and downtown, he says. “The reputation of the building brought clients to see the unit. With five- star concierge service, a doorman and a valet, the amenities at 1 St. Thomas are fit for a celebrity.”

Other amenities include an indoor pool, a steam sauna, massage rooms, a full gym and two guest suites. “There’s even a common area dining room with a catering kitchen and cocktail lounge,”

Goldman says.

“I would say that the majority of people who wanted to see the unit were residents of the building looking to get into a larger space or who wanted a better view.”

This elegant 29- storey Art Deco skyscraper was designed by Robert Stern, award- winning architect and the dean of the Yale School of Architecture. The building was completed in 2008 and offers only 77 suites. Stern is responsible for its elegant blend of classic style and modern quality, Goldman says.

Suite 14A is just shy of 2,500 square feet with south exposure outdoor space. The two- bedroom split layout has a fireplace and a walkout to a balcony from the living room. The den also has a walkout to a balcony. Hardwood floors and crown moulding in the dining room, and a breakfast bar and built- in appliances in the kitchen are other highlights.

The main bedroom has a walk- in closet, his- and- hers closets and a four- piece ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has his- and- hers closets and a three-piece ensuite bathroom. “It’s a lovely example of downtown condo living at its finest.”
