Built in 1970, this house was way ahead of its time, says listing agent Olga Lapshina. “The entire structure of the house is steel beam, with structural double brick and cinder block. Structurally, this house is a bunker.”

All of the rooms have floor- to- ceiling windows and oak hardwood floors and pot lights are featured throughout. Renovations include a new kitchen, bathrooms, floors, doors, windows, a staircase and “very cool concrete floors on the lower level,” she says. Sound and security systems were installed. As well, there was a lot of exterior work, including stucco and cedar slats and a professionally landscaped front yard and driveway with black slate slabs.

“An open- treat floating staircase cascades around the centrally located structural brick fireplace that goes through all of the levels, creating a truly exceptional visual design for all rooms,” Lapshina says.

Walkouts from the kitchen and main- floor family room lead to the garden. Steps lead from the living and dining rooms lead to the oversized chef ’s kitchen has a six- burner range, a centre island and ample cabinetry.

The main bedroom suite has a five-piece ensuite bathroom that includes a glass shower.

A renovation was done by the seller six years ago. “He opened the wall between the kitchen and family rooms and in the master bedroom, uniting bedroom and bathroom in one open- concept retreat,” she says. “This is very progressive for Toronto. The idea was taken from a private residence in British Virgin Islands.”

The finished lower level includes a recreation room with a fireplace.

The 35x113- foot landscaped property has a mini pond/ water feature and an outdoor bar with a television. There is an attached one- car garage and parking for three cars. A street parking permit is also available.

The 2,900- square- foot detached home appeals to younger families because it’s a perfect live/work/play house, she says. “Every bedroom has its own level and privacy. There is an office, a beautiful garden and plenty of common area for family gatherings and entertaining.”

The brick- and- stucco house sold in three days for the full price $2.749 million, Lapshina says, “There was a tremendous amount of interest and a revolving door of showings.”
