AMERICA’S MOST WANTED RETURNS IN MARCH

-

A decade after Fox cancelled America’s Most Wanted, the network is reviving the series — with elizabeth Vargas, shown, as host. The new version debuts in March with the same format: Vargas will ask for viewers’ help as she breaks down cases, consulting with law enforcement experts. The show will also employ advanced crime-fighting technology, such as augmented reality and life-size 3-d avatars that illustrate what suspects might look like now. Map-tracking will put viewers on suspects’ trails, and social media will connect viewers to the America’s Most Wanted team. America’s Most Wanted caught 1,186 criminals over 25 seasons in its run with host John Walsh — starting in 1988 on Fox, and moving to Lifetime before it ended in 2013. Vargas was an anchor on 20/20, ABC’S World News Tonight and Good Morning America.
