PARTON WON’T JUMP THE LINE TO GET VACCINE

-

Dolly Parton hasn’t got the COVID-19 vaccine yet, even though at 75 she’s eligible and she had donated $1 million to its development. “I’m going to get it, though,” she told CNN. “I didn’t want to jump line. I didn’t donate the money so I could be protected. I did it for everybody.” In April, Parton donated the seven-figure sum to Vanderbilt university Medical Center to help fund vaccine research. In November, news broke that her money partly funded Moderna’s vaccine, which trials have shown to be more than 94 per cent effective against the virus. Meanwhile, Parton has reworked her song 9 to 5 for a Super bowl ad. The new tune for Squarespace, a website building and e-commerce platform, switches the lyrics to 5 to 9, emphasizing that many people now have side gigs and are working beyond the typical office hours.
