Jolie sells Churchill painting

-

They announced they were separating in 2016, and were divorced in 2019, but Angelina Jolie and brad Pitt are still battling some things out. Now we hear that Angelina is selling a painting he gave to her in 2011.

when Pitt starred in 2009’s Second world war film Inglourious basterds, his interest was piqued in winston Churchill and his art, pagesix.com reports. The couple later took a private tour of the Churchill war rooms in London, where the british prime minister worked through the war.

Churchill was a prolific painter in his downtime, creating some 500 pieces in his life, but a mosque painting was the only one he produced during the war years. He created the artwork of the 12th-century Tower of the Koutoubia Mosque, later gifting it to President Franklin d. roosevelt.

It was sold to an unnamed buyer in 2011 for us$2.95 million.

It is being put up for auction at Christie’s on March 1 by the Jolie Family Collection, and could fetch up to us$3.4 million.
